I would argue that most manufacturers are running stock considering these are smaller companies most likely developing product on an individuals wallet that aren't willing to totally void the warranty on almost $60K in motors just to post a number that their actual production product can't duplicate. That's one sure fire way to piss off both current and future owners.
I mean really, the whole argument for switching to outboards is to lower the cost and provide more boating time and less repair time. If all you are going to do is substitute one hand grenade for another what's the point?Mark

I just got back from being out at the lake for a week. It did happen, boxes are turned up so that it could over rev. The boat is running really good with stock boxes as well (we got the whole run down at Fred's open house last Thursday).

If one of my boats was running 130 and 131 mph passes. There would be more than this BS picture of a Vessel View display. There would be phone pics, phone videos, I would be bragging my ass off about it. So now, we have a Fountain that ran 130+, everyone called BS. So they admit it is not stock, a lot of people are still calling BS. I call BS and for a good reason!

None of this is going to matter in 1-2 years anyways when we have the 500+ hp motors. Then it won't even matter who can build the lightest, fastest-for-400s boat. What will matter then is what outboard cat works best with big HP outboards on the transom. It will usher in an entirely new era in outboard performance boats.

These ain't normally aspirated motors or opti-pops. If someone outside Merc cracked the box and are monkeying with the tune, then I'll bet my unborn first child that the rev-limiter isn't the only thing that's not stock. LOL

They saw 23 with a couple guys in the boat on stock boxes. I have talked to the guy that was driving it before and talked to both of the guys running it on Saturday as they pulled it up on the lift at Beavers. They are running 35 cnc merc 5 blades that are 15" dia. very low rake and turning the motors a couple hundred over stock.

I'll have a set ordered as soon as they're released, that's for sure Joe! I already have a buyer for my 400Rs. I honestly won't even prop it to run a big # with the SC V8s, my days of wanting to run 140+ are over. But it sure will be nice to get from 80-130+ in a hurry! Such a cool time to be an outboard guy.

CUDA, not sure that I understand the dig towards a guy that quite possibly is out there busting his ass to make the money so he can enjoy his hobby. I have no idea what Rayzor does to make his world happen but I can at least be happy for him. Rant over...
