There are two different 60 Etecs
HO is 3 cyl, 20", 320 lb, 2:1 gears, 5000-5500 rpm
Normal 60 is 2 cyl, 20", 232 lb, 2.9 gears, 5500-6000
Tohatsu 4 stroke small gearcase BFT 60, 20", 243 lb, 2.07 gears, 5000-6000
Tohatsu 2 stroke MD50 can be had in 15", 206 lb, 1.85 gears, 5150-5850
Merc 60 EFI Formula Race 15", 247 lb, 1.83, 5500-6000
Merc 60, 20", 260 lb, 2.33, 5500-6000
if I was getting a new VooDoo it would be the Tohatsu or the Merc race
(or used)
the lower numerical gears make it easier to find a suitable prop
Ron Hill makes props for this size of engine

Awesome that is tempting.. I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best setup for my boat. Im really leaning toward the Merc fr 60, but i just cant buy one right now. If you still have it in a few months ill get back with you. How long did it take them to get to you when you ordered it? i hear it takes a few months? Have you used one? how did you like it and perform? what did it run on your boat?

Carby 2 stroke 3cyl yam or omc
Cheaper and faster
Yam trim can be made to fit the omc or race style trim parts all available from seaway marine.

What 3 cyl yamahas are good? Can a 50hp be converted to 70hp, 70hp to 90hp etc? Anyone know who builds Yamaha motors these days? Im looking for a 15" mid with trim and reliability but power is always good too. What about a Tohatsu 50? Do you guys running 2 strokes use premix im assuming? I tried to reach out to Fast Fred the guy who builds 49.ci race motors that are around 100hp, not sure but he has not answered and not sure if he's building them anymore. If i went with a Yamaha 2 stroke what would be a good starting point?
