12-24-2005, 10:22 PM #16This comes as no surprise since that is how the prop is made. I looked at your photo of how the thrust washer sits on it and that is exactly the way it is supposed to fit and how OMC intended it. Nothing has been changed on the hub from stock. If you need further verification of this, call John on Monday. If you're still not convinced, order a brand new one from Bombardier and open the box.

Got it. Thanks. I had to ask all the stupid questions, so next time someone asks, we can just link this thread.

The SRX prop you have,is it for a light boat ,heavy boat?Does it lift the stern ,bow?I'm trying to learn about all these different designs and what they do.
Thanks for any info,Ronnie C.

I have not run one yet, but they are said to be a good versatile round-eared prop for many styles of boats, including some Allisons and STV's, and even the heavier hulls have been said to run well with the SRX. The magic in these props is "hidden potential." After a trip to DAH ProPellers, some have claimed 3 to 5 mph gains, with improvements all around.
Some prople had some things to say about SRX's in this thread:

Here's the photos of my 27p DAH SRX, also in that thread:
Check out the perfectly worked cupping in the tips and trailing edges.Last edited by pyro; 12-26-2005 at 11:47 PM.

Thin leading edges. Thinner trailing edge than my Mazco RE3. The high rake (swept blade angle) and improved cupping are the keys to strong bow lift. The blade area is a bit less than a big-ear chopper, but the "DAH SRX" is said to run faster on most hulls, and will still carry weight OK.
I'll find out first-hand in the summer. I'm hoping to see 80 mph at 6500 rpm if all goes well, and hopefully 75 or better with a passenger. We'll see...

To retain the prop if the hub fails. Without it the ID of the prop larger than the OD of the nut so you would loose the prop if the hub let go...
That’s the way mine works anyway although it’s been machined so you don’t need the “thin” nut.Josh Peterson

It goes on after the prop and before the nut. Part of the “thrust washer kit?” I just use a grade 8 flat washer...
