Looks like this marks the official end of the two stroke outboard. 150 Pro XS is now a four stroke.
175,200 and 225 a V-6 four stroke that weighs 475 pounds. 15 and 20 horsepower outboards are four stroke.
Personally love the two strokes but really have to give Mercury credit for the engineering of these complete new lines of engines.
There are still a few optimax engines offered but the new four strokes seem to cover all the horsepower ranges.
Will be interesting to see what Mercury Racing’s line up will be.

The new 4 stroke motor in a 225 would be 40 pounds lighter than our current 225 opti. Might be a good deal.

Get the best audio recording you can of your V6 two stroke and pipe it through your boats stereo when running these .

This must be a 'TYPO', Fuji?
Beside making the first set of stainless steel, water cooled headers , Bob Patterson was an inboard Marathon Racer--I first met him at Parker 1968. Bob Patterson was also the guy to go to with your V-1710 or V-1650 problems.
But Bob Patterson never raced an Offshore Power Boat across the Gulf Stream---
Bob Magoon did--many times--usually with a lot of success---
Bob Magoon passed away January 10, 2018---
Rest In Peace, Doc---

No typo. B. Patterson dabbled in outboard offshore briefly.

They do look good. A couple holes above the cav, two smoke oil injection just bellow the cats. They do have cats?
The cowl, I know. An old sea king 15 turned backwards, that's why I like it.

Would be pretty funny. Emissions clean with smoke and smell of an old school two stroke.
