    [QUOTE=lars strom;3016662]BarryStrawn,

    I have experience with that,

The #29 ON class Molinari/Saffa/Johnson V6 RS 2 liter looper in the picture below is me. I drove #29 boat for a few hours at Lake Como 1978 and raced it the weekend after in Milan. (Idroscalo).
Renato wanted me to test and race his bigger boats before Paris 6 hours 1978. This was extremely fun for me and I ended up second to Renato at the race in Milan.

After the Milan race we went back to Renato's place at Lake Como and tested the #11 OZ class Molinari/Saffa/Evinrude V6 CCC 2.448 liter cross-flow. (Picture below)
This was the boat Angela Vassena and I drove in Paris 6 hours 1978 and finished fourth overall.

The OZ class boat was longer and more a marathon race boat. My memory tells me both engines was pretty simular. I remember the Paris engine was using more fuel. The boat was pretty heavy fueled up..!!

[/QUOTE Hi Lasse Molinari had 4 Saffa OZ class racing boats early 1977 both hering and Molinari placed 1st and 2nd at Bristol both driving 18ft boats these same boats were used in the Thames race driven by Bob Hering who managed to submarine his and Jimbo McConnell drove the other one.One of these boats would have been your Paris boat. Molinari for himself did use a 19ft boat for the Thames race. Now in sept 1977 Molinari built a smaller 17ft boat and won the Amsterdam 3hr race with it both Hering and Molinari raced the same boat at the 1977 Paris 6hr race and Hering drove the same 17ft boat at the 1978 Bristol race. Now that 17ft boat would have been your ON boat that you used the 2.0 looper on.

Thanks STEVERINO..My memory is pretty good from Paris 1978 because it was my first OZ class race and I did not really liked the way the longer Paris #11 boat handle.
(Plow or flying to high..no good balance)
The shorter #29 Saffa boat with the Johnson V6 RS 2 liter looper I drove at Idroscalo was in my opinion a way better boat.

I got this great picture from a friend of mine.
We all can see a happy Roger Jenkins..not sure who is helping him getting ready for the race.
After study the picture for a long time I think it is from Liege, Belgium 1984.
To me the Carlsberg sponsored Evinrude F1-V8 boat is a Hodges. If I remember right the Liege race 1984 was the only race Roger raced a F1-V8 Hodges.
Yes..this was the race we lost Tom Percival.

Here is a picture of the OMC V6 3 liter looper fuel injection. This engine won Paris 6 Hours 1979, beating the Merc T-4..Just another fact you can only read here..!!
Pretty small picture but better than no picture.
You can see Cees Van Der Velden to the left.

    A 1984 Liege race picture of Roger Jenkins #9 Hodges/Carlsberg/Evinrude F1-V8.
I am pretty sure this was Roger Jenkins last F1-V8 race.

My guess is Francois Salabert, Renato Molinari and his brother Georgio is not looking at F1-V8 race boats..

I raced against Duanne in SE and always thought he was a very good driver.
Although I wasn't in Welland the day he did this flip I was told after he landed Duanne literally stood up in 'knee deep' water
with a bloody face and then walked onto the shore.
Duanne also drove OMC V8 for a short period of time.

A Whiteman Air Force Base visit..!!

This is way Off Topic but its for us a big deal..

A Whiteman Air Force Base visit..!!

One of our proudest moment ever in my life..
In the fall of 2011 an officer from the
Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri knocked on our door at Larina Ranch Missouri outside Warsaw, Mo.
He was very nice and told us our 200 acre ranch was perfect for a Whiteman Air Force Base military training weekend.
I told him you are always welcome here to use our ranch for anything except dropping heavy bombs..
He laughed and promise me no bombs..
Early Saturday morning November 5 2011 two Black Hawk helicopters landed at Larina Ranch, plenty of military people was coming in by car.
A few War Hogs was flying above and people and radio communications everywhere. This weekend was for me and Carina extremely interesting.
I could not believe the very powerful and famous Whiteman Air Force Base picked the little Swedes ranch for an important military training weekend.
    A memory for life.
PS. Whiteman Air Force Base is the home of the B-2 bomber.
