    225 Promax rev limiter info

Can anyone tell me what the stock Rev limiter is on a 99 225 Promax? I’m trying to figure out if my motor has the stock rev limiter on it or if there is something else wrong with it. It runs up to 6500 with two different 30p props and a 32p prop but won’t turn anymore.

That's about right depending on the tach. The last one I rebuilt would pull itself to 7k. The ecu progressively dumps more fuel for the limiter

6750, but it's a soft limiter, it goes real fat after that, mine pulls strong to 6900 and will go 7500 with a smaller prop.

Mine is running pretty fat I see a lot of evidence of it. I river run and it pretty much stays at 6000 or better rpm's all the time, around 6600 on long straight runs. Sounds like the rev limiter in my computer is the issue.

I turned the same 30 almost the same rpms with my stock, carb 175 fishing motor. There is something not right with this Promax.
