COR is still up and running. I'm not involved currently, but Kevin is still racing, with Keith B, Emelio, Greg and a few of the others. The class doesn't seem to be growing though.
Same guy. Does the same stuff at the Enduros as well. I'm not willing to put myself in that position and don't want to witness it anymore either.Keith-

We all lost a friend that day at Puddingstone. The driver in question was part of this unavoidable accident ( wrong place at the wrong time) and he unfortunately he has to live with this.
This accident took place on a warm up lap where the speeds were far below what we normally run. It was determined that the accident was cause by questionable set up and driver error to the drivers
boat that we lost. After this incident APBA put a small group together of EX Modvp racers to try make our class safer. Many changes were mandated including set back length, no left hand gear cases
no multiple trim controls on foot pedals, trim controls mounted closer to the steering wheel and hydraulic steering ratio 2.0 to 2.4 I think, not sure on that one I run push pull cable.
I started this post to invite East Coast and West Coast racers to the Parker Enduro and to share some stories and pictures, I didn't expected it to go the direction.
If you feel that you need to find out the facts of what happen at Puddingstone please call me because I was on the water when it happened. Keith 714 745-7078

Let`s not forget that they changed the rules so that no pickle fork boats are allowed. Also the minimum length excludes many boats that were popular in the "real" Mod-VP back in the day. How do they expect a class to grow by allowing only a few boat makers to compete? The excuse they used was that a pickle fork boat will hook. ANY boat out there will hook!
I`m to old and out of shape to drive 10 laps now but my son has become a pretty good driver and I still have my old race boat. I would have loved to put on a race maybe at Lake Buhlow for COR but not under the current rules. Most all old Mod-VP boat around here fit the "real" Mod-VP rules and are either to short for the rules or of the pickle fork design. Mostly Vikings, LTV`s, Laser`s both 380`s and LTV`s, STV`s and Mirage`s. If these boats can`t race there would be no point in doing it. It would be fun tho.
Thanks for the invite tho. One day I will make the endure again. I ran it in I think 1988. Had a blast. I think I would enjoy watching my son and a co-driver race something like maybe a green motor.

Rick Connolly was his name. Hes on Scream and fly. Just bought the bare hull a few months ago and it was a week before the race he got her togeather and his first time ever driving her! haha I think he had about 3 hrs seat time before the Parker Race.
Talk about a crash course in learning to drive a Vee hull chine walker! 3rd in class 13th overall. Not bad for a rookie racer driving an Allison. I watched some of the footage there wasn't to many smooth sections inside or out it looked like? My hats off to you and anyone who can drive that race looks pretty narly!!
Found a pic of the Allison.

I always thought that an Allison XR-2002 built around 500lbs would be competitive in the 2.0L class in the enduro as long as it had equal power as everybody else. Use it`s top speed potential on the first lap to get some distance then when the water gets rough hand on.
I have one. I should do that. Nope, to old. Nice to think about tho.

Thanks for the kind words Whipper and Baker 343. It was a fun race and worth all the effort to get there. Here is a video with a few laps around the track to give folks and idea of what it's like - https://youtu.be/xrI5Y22-rhk

Mr. Chopper does not participate in this event anymore and I think we can understand your frustration with everything that goes into planning, the ever changing rules at that time and your extended travel.
This event would truly benefit from a lot of this sites members racing this race. If you ever change your mind and you reconsider, we would enjoy having you guys and try to match your hospitality while your here.
