Well after a week of wrenching, staying up til 530am on Saturday morning to try and get the boat out for the same day, I had the boat on the water for the first time today. Things are looking good after sorting out a few issues yesterday and his morning. The motor definitely needs some tweaking but it runs! Had blast out there today, doesn’t get any better.

Ran a 29 srx. Needs a lot of testing and tuning still though to get dialed in

Looks great. When I had a 200XP Evinrude on my boat originally, I ran the 29 SRX on it, We found it was the best all around prop, I also had a 31 Mazco cleaver for the rough days.

There are TONS of lake boats built with kevlar. Not sure where the myth started that only racers were built with kevlar but it isn't true.

That makes sense. I found a brochure from 1982 for the 380 ray ski and it did say that the hull was hand lay up Kevlar. Not that it matters or I entirely care that much but would there be any way to find out?

With the floor having been painted, not really. There was a color difference in the kevlar boats, both of mine are much more yellow. What year model is it, I'll ask when they started making most of them kevlar.

I bet it's, I think they started making them all kevlar in '83... or atleast most of them.

Look by the vin number, there should be a spot that says Kevlar etched in the hull. Also on the port side, same place.
