Would be nice to have a place (like here on S&F) that has documented, verified weights of certain component such as powerheads, lower units and midsections that can be referenced. then the crating can be individually calculated such as how much does a pallet weigh and how much a sheet of plywood weighs etc........... there should be a sticky somewhere I tell ya!

When the load was shipped was there a weight noted on the BOL? Everyone remember to do that, even if you dont know it, take a guess to the weight, pallet and banding included, and note that weight on the BOL when it is shipped.

yes it was stated as 200lbs. On bol and delivered to truck terminal, they claim they pulled it randomly and weighed it at 425lbs. I just put it all back on original pallet and 3l promax mid clamp tuner and 3l alien hood pan and skid weighed 226 lbs on a certified govt scale

Ball is back in trucking co's court, they already billed my CC $200 w/out my authorization ,for their inept business practices. Illegal to do that i am pretty sure. I gave them my CC for original invoice, pretty sure you cant keep bangin the same card w/out authorization, a simple call to CC company to have cancelled.

As i stated b4 i am and was perfectly willing to pay any slight overage on my guestimate, 25lbs. In this case not their 225lbs. Asessment. Coulda shipped 2 3l mids on 1 skid @425lbs.

Good deal man. I'd bet if they do this often to people shipping small items like this, that people most just pay.

yep,I cant say if it was another skid weighed, and mistakenly, the paperwork filed as mine,or intentional. But I knew, no way I could lift 425lbs., and I can barely lift a 175lb. 3l mid

Curious if this was all direct with the trucking company or an on line broker bidding out your shipment.

I've run into this and other problems with the on line brokers and will not use them. Stick with the major carriers and deal directly with them.
