I can't believe the UPS guy has the guts to deliver a package that looks like that when it gets to your door. I had one show up last year where I took one look at the box and refused to accept delivery. Told him to send it back. When I got home the next day, the package was sitting at my front door, the guy came back when I wasn't home and left it there. When I called UPS, they had the balls to say it must have gotten damaged after the guy left it there.......................

I do agree, Amazon has to improve big on their packaging.

I stopped using UPS over 5 years ago. I swear I really believe they take two fork trucks and use the packages as hockey pucks in some warehouse. The other down side is UPS is self insured and dealing with their subsidiary owned insurance company is a Nightmare. I tell all my customers please do not Ship to me UPS!!! If it arrives damaged i will not get involved in the claim process. I had a Lower unit shipped to me from a S&F member and friend several years back. When It arrived the Lower was completely destroyed. I had to run around get estimates to replace the case etc. UPS kept coming buy my shop wanting to take possession of the Unit and packaging. I kept refusing based on discussions with my friend. if they had of gotten possession he would have never been able to settle the claim.

They really had to try hard to wreck that package! UPS is really notorious for their poor handling, expensive costs (especially between Canada/USA) and slow delivery. I have found better reliability with USPS and 1/2 cost. I try to never use UPS.

Greg, did UPS fix the problem for you?

I was going to post the link to the thread HStream1 posted of my UPS proof gearcase shipping crate but see Photobucket is holding him for ransom. It started in BC Canada to Florida via UPS to have case threads redone, then to Bud to have case stainless steel coated via Fedx. Then from Buds back to me in BC, no damage. Solid wood box with case bolted to it, strong handle, basic labels for what side up, and instructions for customs to access inside. Bud had better pictures but these are all I had.

Dave I'll post my pictures as soon as my damn internet server fixes their problem for the 100th time in the last 6 months. Trying to do anything on my phone is beyond my patience level.

I just made it solid and simple, hell if a monkey walked up to that box his first instinct would be to grab the handle. Lol

i do agree that Amazon’s packaging can really suck too. I’ve seen it good and bad from them. I suppose with all of the packages they have constantly going out of there, Amazon is getting lazy.
In this case the damage was done on delivery to the buyers house. He watched the driver put both boxes on a dolly,The tall one "can" on the bottom and the clamp on the top, rolled them up to the garage and DUMPED them off the dolly on the concrete! Idiots!!!
