    Soda Blasting boat

Has anyone soda blasted the paint off a boat?
I'm looking at 36ft cigarette wide body and the paint is all cracked up. It was painted 20 years ago.Was curious if I could Soda Blast the paint off without ruining the Boat.
    Thanks for any info.

Maybe bottom paint - - - I wouldn't trust taking it to the gelcoat or paint on the topside.

It's great for bottom paint. It really depends on the top coat though, you could do it, an experienced pro will be able to tell you based on what is on there now and the potential effects. I know some sail boat guys have done it but it can create more work sometimes. Looks like you have some sanding ahead of you.

    Love to see that Cig.

If they can stop at the gel coat (such as the paint being a different color as the gel coat), this is what the texture will be.....

I had a friend who blasted a Skater. Big mistake. Ended up costing more money to block sand the boat then to just have the boat sanded. I would strongly recommend sanding the boat.

Thanks Everyone for the Info. I think I should leave it where it sits. I can't figure out to upload a pic off my phone of it. Its rough shape so Sanding is not gonna happen.LOL
    Thanks again.
