another vote here for dart island. huge beach, will fit a ton of boats.

Yessir! We are always at dart. Great area. That's got my vote. Superboattwin250 is right, easy to get pizzas. I was thinking of everybody who wants to come put in $10 that can get them 2 slices of pizza and a soda, if that's something you guys thinks is a good idea.

I should have quoted who I was responding to... Dart is my first vote as well honestly. I'm gunna call rich tomorrow and iron some things out try to help him out a bit! I haven't been on dart in years is there enough water at both tides?

I'm not trying to offend anybody by offering the idea of pitching in money. Just trying to have some ideas to get the river run going.

I don't know what happens on the beach but when they deliver pizzas to our boats we typically donate about 100-200$ amongst a few boats...

Well fortunately you are incorrect about the area, there is not a no wake zone there as the marina is tucked inside a break water. Flybys will be just fine there. I'm looking into some things. I believe this will be a great area I will keep everyone posted.

In Addition to all the Great Boats and all the Great People that get together at the Connecticut River Run to renew and to make new Friendships, the Main Recipients of the Run are the kids in that all the proceeds from the Run are donated to Juvenile Diabetes.
Somehow, we have to keep the Run going.

Well said. The long island guys are happy to go for a boat ride 'donate some money for the kids' and go home you can keep the pizza LOL

Look, I'm not trying to argue... I've boated the river for 25 years. Never once has that been a marked no wake zone. Let alone nobody stops for the apparent chart marked no wake zone, do what you people want. I was going to try and help get a venue and even get the pizzas out there no matter the hassle. But you people wanna be difficult. Sad to see the run die.

Dmax is right that chart is wrong. That no wake zone hasn't been marked for years. We were up there a few weeks ago and did a fly by for the dart island party goers. Think there was even a wedding going on over at the Marina at the time.

Are there any special permissions for dart island or is it state property?

I believe the concern is just that no one wants the water police sitting around busting balls like they did at the ramp in Haddam last year, I wasted two hours warning people that they were sitting there. Hopefully you guys can get on the same page and make this happen. Its always fun watching the Long Island guys go by after crossing the sound.

No special permissons, as it isn't an event or gathering we just happen to see eachother hanging out at the same spot. Nothing formal.
