    That is insane in a Hewes!! Built and rigged them all through the 80s at Hewes and V4s were the big ticket back then. Most of the charter boys preferred the 3 cyl 75s for weight/fuel reasons. Would love to see this set up.

    I drove a Hewes a few weeks ago with a 150 yamaha duo prop. That little boat is very very impressive when it comes to handling characteristics along with overall quality.

    They would turn on a dime. Bob also made a little Ski boat that was a blast to run around in. The head mechanic, Bob Shockey, had one with a bad ass built 135 on it that he scared the hell out of me with.

    Hewes are amazing when I lived in Boca all the rich guys had hewes quality, looks, and good handling. Any pictures running. Good luck

    Helping a friend rig this boat, its a old '70s checkmate with the cap cut off and a shipoke style cap made, and the top cap and inside was sprayed with white Line-X bedliner coating. Boat was rebuilt all foam composite and is super light. Were shooting for mid 60s with a 175 optimax.. he said this boat originally had a 225 promax on it
