Well its almost finished. Just have to replace the seals for the hydraulic steering ram witch were leaking,install cleats and bolt the front bucket seats down. Motor runs like a champ on the hose. Its a 91 2.5 7 pedal 200 carbed less than 10 hours on rebuild. No back seat yet but that's coming soon. Here's a few update pics.

Guy's this action project is important in more ways than just getting back on the water and behind the wheel of another hot boat after many years without. I wouldnt have this boat if not for my friend Mikey who unfortunately is no longer with us. He passed away about 3 years ago from a long hard fight with cancer and liver disease.. FU$K CANCER!!!! He was a die hard hot boater for many many years. He was from Virginia but lived in venice florida for a long time. We met almost 25 years ago out on the water here in sarasota and shared the love for speed.

When he purchased another boat he needed room in his yard so he dropped this 20 action off to my house on day and said " do ya want it"? I said " I do but have no money right now to buy it" Mikey was a very generous person and told me sinse im a pool guy that if i cleaned his pool for a year or so it would be considered done. It came with an alluminum trailer and a blown 200 merc. I was shocked because it was the only way I had any chance of getting back to the water. I decided to go full out restoration and im glad I did. Only thing was that he passed before I could get it done and that was hard to take but his memory will live on. I miss Mikey and wished he could have seen this boat finished. He loved fast boats as much as any of us.

Here is a couple pics of Mikey several months before he left us out livin life in his 22 cougar with a 280 and a pic of him and a friend in his other boat a 20' action. Mikey didn't go online much and wasn't computer savoy but quite a few people knew him anyway.

Its nice to have material things that have a personal attachment Rob "sentimental value is worth more than dollars that we go through so freely". Glad to see you are back on track and ready to get out again. I saw your project over at Jeff's a long while back and he said you were anxious then- These things always take twice as long and cost twice as much as we originally think they will. I only hope you are able to enjoy it twice as much you think you will.
