With the 80#s up front and Bravo prop the porpoising was still there the same.
Put on the 26 Trophy and after a few hundred yards hit a couple of big roller waves and the salt bags came slidding 7' down to my feet and the word had changed!
It got up to speed smoothly and the porpoising had virtually gone away with trimming the mota and at 60 or so even the chinewalk was almost nill. It went past the chinewalk and the nose dropped and took off up to 72 mph slick as.snot. it was turrning 6000 rpm and 72 mph by gps and felt great NO problem driving it with 1 hand.
With playing with the trim it would sometimes feel a bit loose in the back end. Sorta like the back end was scooting around side to side just a bit. But it was ok with that..
Not sure if the 80# at my feet did the trick or the prop did it.
Put the 80# rite behind the seats and wife back in the passenger seat and performed still the same.

We cruised arround up on the pad for a couple of hours with that big ol 28 gallons of fuel. She felt comfortable and was not frightened anymore.
Didnt unload the salt but hopefully with it out of there it will ride the same. Mite have to move the batery up front tho. But all in all it was a complete diffrent boat ride.
The Trophy is the large hub thru hub exhaust and propshaft is even with the pad.
Just thinking i can play with that and get it up a bit and just over 6000 next time.

TON of stern lift with that big hub trophy. That's why the stern felt like it was sliding around. Congrats on getting it up and going.

now get that battery up there, make sure to run the cables on the side you need weight (passanger side usually, every bit of even weight will help), get out the chopper or find an SRX and let her eat! good job, its fun when they run nice!

I,m not thinking he needs weight up front, as much as the hull need more lift at the stern.....

I would go run that prop asap with and without the salt bags and see what happens. You may find you dont need the weight up there with that prop since it will carry the bow. If it wants the weight up there move that battery upthere and just set it there for a quick test and run cables to it. It will answer your question on what the boat wants hopefully.

I'm running the same prop on my Vector and it works great, awesome hole shot, good midrange torque and as much top end as I can handle right now. I have zero porpoising issues, I don't think I could make it porpoise if I tried.

He's got a rare big hub trophy. Those give a ton of stern lift with the full size long barrel.

Do these large hubs get the bow lift from the HUB itself doing the lifting? Or the blade configuration? I can see how the large hub in essence would be like a gearcase that is 2' long and that acting like a torpedo in the water guiding the hull what to do

IMO big hub does a lot of lifting. Consider a over the hub prop like a chopper, no stern lift and an abundance of bow lift. Small barrel trophy's still have a good amount of bow lift since a semi over the blade condition exists. With over the blade cleavers it's the blade shape that lifts the stern. Stern drives love a thru hub cleaver style prop for example. Can't get more lift than that.
