I dont know if mine is of older or newer design but my tabs actually have a spot where that indicator goes mounted stand-alone off to the side rather than to the lower S.S. cylinder pin

My pumps are literally mounted behind each tab against the transom wall. Where each tab is, their respective pump lies just behind them so length required is very short I'd say.

...Rear view, showing the bolt pattern & hydraulic thru-hull fittings. 380-S & 280-S tabs base plate are the same. Never over-tighten the mounting bolts or the hydraulics...

Is that tab cracked, or just the photo?

A couple short lines then, is all you need. 90's on one end, straights on the other. dextron ll or dextron lll fill-up and go. If you or someone you know, has a Land & Sea account, they are owned by Mercury(Brunswick Corp.) and have many things in stock, at their Pompano Beach warehouse, or can get it, in short order.

    FUJIMO,

I have these same exact K planes on my 28 eliminator eagle. The problem i have is the cables aren't long enough with the grips on them for full down and it ends up breaking the plastic grips off. Is there another part i need? I don't see any area of adjustment in the cable.
