If you want to see the St. Johns river in Central Florida-

If you are wanting to run the St. Johns river in Central Florida, I highly recommend checking out Renegades as a place to base yourself out of. It is located just North of Lk. George so it is very close to Salt Springs and Silver Glen to the South and you have Welaka, Cresent Lake & crooked river, Palatka and Jacksonville to the North depending on how far you want to run. You can also run South but Lk. George gets kicked up when there is wind and is not a place for small light weight boats to get caught up in. I had a cabin that was very nice, they have a big tiki bar, full restaurant/indoor bar, and a convenience store with fuel and a nice ramp all on site. I was totally impressed at how nice everything is manicured and maintained. We really needed this added to our short list of waterfront lodging and dining in this area.

Had lunch there with Kirkland, Barco and another friend a few weeks ago. Really nice place but was very busy on the weekend. Bikers, fishing tournament, and car show!

Joe you forgot it also has full hook up RV camp ground up front with a pool. Definitely a nice spot and definitely busy on the weekend's.
