We purchased 2 Skysper childs fully automatic inflatable vests. We don't go nearly as fast as most of the S&F members, but thought it would be a great idea for children. We took advice form the forum to go a head and let the children test them. After jumping in the pool one of them inflated as advertised, but the other did not. The second one had to be inflated manually. We don't think the children would be in position to manually inflate if they were to fly out of the boat. We emailed the manufacturer last week and to date we have not received a response. We do have the tests on video and will post as soon as we figure out how to do so. We realize they were not super jackets, but thought they would work in our situation. How many other jackets have been sold that do not work properly? These turned out to be expensive pool toys because we don't trust them for safety. We're going back to old school jackets. They are cumbersome and hot, but work.

We're planning on returning them. The point of my post was to warn folks that these may or may not inflate. It's hard for me to trust a product that works 50% of the time. In our case only one child would have floated. We're not willing to take that chance. Back to old school for us since standard life jackets have less chance of failing.

Is this a hit or miss issue for inflation OR does the maker really stand behind 100% auto activation? Would personally testing each unit prove its reliability? The issue I have is that it MUST work when you need it!!! This is why we scuba divers wear back up gear for deep diving , cave and wreck penatrations. Gary

So I looked up the SKysper vest and I could only find it sold on Amazon (also saw your review ) and looks to be a relatively inexpensive China made product sold under a few different names. I wouldnt relate your experience to something made by Mustang Survival who is leader in search, rescue, and safety equipment.
