Knowing speed and rpm with each prop would help. But the speeds seem very low. Maybe all your 250 hp are not there. Do you have good compression?

How much setback? Run it at even with bottom to start. Start trimming out till she breaks free. Those boats like chopper props. Probably a 28 or 30 to start and spin it out 7000.

You need a chopper style prop not a cleaver. My 19 ft daytona ran 92 mph with a steve Smith offshore cut chopper and a sportmaster. With a cle it would blow out in the mid 80's . Post a picture of your setup.

I think you are over trimming to get the rpm. What is your rooster tail like?. On my heavy 175 hp mod vp the cleaver was a real disappointment 14mph slow then the 28 A-5.

I think the prop is not hookin as well i said it before i could go through every trim mode and transom height with little to no gain in mph or prop spin i seriously thought it was going to be at the edge of my max pitch coming from a 24 chopper it hooked up great but hit top end and had plenty of power to pull a taller pitch, i just wanted to cruise at 55 with lower rpms and still be able to top out at 80+

I know how to trim i didnt have to trim up to get the rpms the engine has plenty of power with the cleaver i only saw less bow lift and a little more stern lift

Your goals are the same as what I wanted. Cruise between 50 and 60 and top out over 80.
    With my A-4 (48 76108A4-28)would cruise(at about 5500) about 50 and top out about 74.
The A-5(48 13372-28 )was cruising in the low 50's and topped out at 78
With my Chopper II 28( 849356-30 which started as a 30 but reworked to a 28) it cruises about 60 and topped out at 81
With the cleaver 28P it was cruising under 50 and topped out at 66-67
I have not tried a ET yet but watching guys with similar style hulls it may work better then the Chopper II
You have a lot more power then I. A large pitch and diameter bow lifting prop should work well
I would say try a Chopper II 30 or the same with an ET

if you picked up 15 MPH and 300RPMs from 22 to 24,the 22 has a spun hub or in reality has way less pitch then marked

I am stating top speed at 7300 rpm with each prop not a loss of rpm anywhere plenty of power i can and have turned 8k + but dont know where the danger zone is the engine naturally wants to turn 7k half throttle i did some checking to make sure i had 1.87 gears i do

i dont understand how the 28 cleaver was such a dog it would wind up on launch but hook in a boat length and pull im going to take my props to the shop tomorrow and hopefully a 28 or 30 re3 or yamaha drag will do me right im on the fence about a 32 but the stv guys are turning smaller props faster
