At least you'd have the three motors...lol Texmo's hull isn't as bad as the picture make it look. The deck openings were cut for some reason. The bottom needs a lot of work, as they tried a LOT of things to make it turn. Had speed, but wouldn't turn well. It had the largest skid fin I've ever seen!!!

He's talking about the date, not the year of the motors. Like cars, the new models become available in September of the previous year. 1968 model motors at a race late in 1967.

Nope, I didn't say anything about what year the motors were. This was the only day in my 75 years I was at Salton Sea. I left California in Dec 1967 and in Jan 1968 was working for Holman Moody Marine..
Check out what Willabee says about it.. http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...alton-Sea-1967 post #3 Definitely

Yep! I certainly must agree with your comment Lilabner, seeing you were in fact at the event in late '67.
    Arr, those were the days!
Gotta love the look of the red bands.

I never even knew the years of the motors, the USMC had clouded my memory bank for four years, and I knew them all before I went to Nam. It was a real treat to go to a boat race again, even to just watch.
