    Land and Sea jack plate....

Motor on the L&S plate is not looking good. Fairly wore out. Has anyone found a replacement motor for one of these things? Have a part #? Saw a volvo penta that looks close if not right on. Have a call in to the place...Link here http://store.alternatorparts.com/par...e854525-3.aspx btw I have the newer one inside the slide plates...

I got one years ago but Land&Sea were still selling boat parts, it looked the same as stock. Had the long sealed wire harness coming off the motor. If you find something that works let us know please.

Closest I have found is the one I linked. I have the elec place sending me the measurements on it. It uses a 3'' dia. housing with the flat blade drive shaft. 2 mach screws go from top cap to hyd unit. And is a 2 wire. Other poss is to re-brush and clean up and see if it will work. No room for the ones you show.....It is a tight fit between the slides.

If the outer case is alright, just take it to an starter/alternator repair shop for an armature turn and new brushes, I've had several done, even the motor starters

You are correct buzzin, that might be my best option. We have an elec rebuilder here local but it would cost twice what a new motor would cost. Still looking for a new one I can use. Old S&F thread sez it is a convertible top motor for a chrysler car?

Motor needs to be sealed so water doesn't get in. Old Chryslers didn't want to run when it rained, lol
Can't see that motor being water proof.

Yeah, the old one lasted for 30+ yrs. So, I would like to go with something real close, or as buzzin said, re-build. Just one of those things to deal with when your junk is old....The one in the link on the 1st post looks to be real close....Just need some specs.

I have my old motor but can't get any good numbers off it. Found some old OMC brushes at the shop that were the same but have never put the motor together. Probably should so I have a spare.

After some looking it seems the sea star power steering uses the same motor. Can't find a after market one tho. Yet.....

The motor on the Model 600 L&S plate is a late 70's/early 80's OMC trim pump.
