which leak down tester to buy?

Finally got a compressor so now I get to start buying toys to go with it.
Looking for suggestions for reasonable price/quality leak down tester.

This one from ATS seems like a high quality "aircraft" gauge for a decent price; cheaper than a lot of the ones in the car magazines/catalogs: https://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/d...ODUCT_ID=2E-14

They also have a gauge with a built in calibration orifice; I guess for testing when it's very cold or very hot... you test the master first and note what the reading is and compare your cylinder leakages to that. https://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/d...PRODUCT_ID=2EM (Apparently you can request a different spark plug adaptor when you order it... or buy the extra one.)

Had the ATS one,loaned it out. GONE! Replaced it with the OTC (import) both worked well.

I think I saw something in a thread about holding the flywheel? or chocking/block the prop with motor in gear to keep it from spinning???

I am going to make a couple of your ingenious tools today - but I have to go to a shop that has torch which means I will not have a motor with me to check fit as I go. What is the gap across the tabs- I guess out to out would be the easiest way to measure. I found some sockets with 1.25" hex depth which appears to be enough. Thanks

That looks like something I would do!! Sometimes it's very easy to complicate a task like making this, by thinking on it too much.

I just happened to have a spare 11/16" 6 point socket laying around. Even has the deep well so I'm going to make one as well. My motor is 1000 miles away. How far up the socket do you make the slit? Pictures look about 3/4".
