Your taxes hard at work! I remember there was some charge at tanner park also. Most of the ramps in Florida are free, except the keys (I'm sure there are some around that charge that I haven't run into), and we have no state income tax either. Last I heard you could buy a 21 extreme (skater copy) for around 15k bare hull, built in south florida, so unsure of the build quality, but probably doesn't compare to a skater though. no knock against superboat at all, I can only imagine what the cost of doing business up there is.

Miami ramps are charge now at least on the east side $12 week day Friday-Sunday $16 no sales tax but property taxes are going up. Still no where near NY. We get clocked on car insurance also here in Miami.

Still very much so building boats. We are ordering a 24 for a customer, bare hull with seats. Price is very fair for an awesome boat. As was the 30 we built a few years ago.

superboats deck mold was destroyed for the classic 21 legend. They have a new deck mold and yes that price is about right. I'd asked about a custom built hull for class 7 with some mods and that number isn't far off.. Like Tony said I think have to call and speak to John. He'll take care of you if your serious and have the money.
I'd tried to work out a deal where we did something different and cut a super 24' down to a 22. The 24 measures 23'7" and the class calls for a 22' boat. if you cut a foot out it would be 22'7 and would have fit our class... but once a few people in the class caught wind we were trying to make something for offshore that is one off and different yet fit how the rule were written my god the crocodile tears started flowing so badly that idea was scratched. That's why when you try to do **** differently it pays to tell no one and hope the folks you are working with tell no one also.... I think that would have been a rough water killer.
As for that link to Phil, his boats are out of the original 21 apache mold. he got the mold and him and Bob Saccenti went through it and made the mold pristine again. Was built with the help of doug wright and his layup schedule. had wood in transom and center stringers and floor, I believe, and lightweight composites everywhere else. His Boat is a Strong Beast and took a good deal of beating in the nationals and worlds last yr. It is a pleasure boat 100% rigged as pleasure boat with stock merc controls and all. He had a bone stock 200 merc and a 25" shaft set up. We got it as close to a class7 set up as we could and the thing ripped off 66mph with a quicksilver out of the box prop.
we finished 4 at nationals and 3rd at worlds.. or 3rd and nationals and 4th at worlds with a brand new boat that had less than 3 hours run time total on it. Fantastic set up and he would build one for much less than 30K. Him and Bob are itching to build a few.
the superboats are incredible no doubt. But personally I like that mini 41 apache deck phil has. Makes that boat look vicious. and I can only imagine how bad ass that thing would run with a 20" shaft etec 250 HO. lol.

Blocking the 24 Super to a 22 would make a serious wave crusher.

I don't see how there can be an issue as long as it meets the rule length.

There's no Apache molds that are faster or slower. There were four sets of small Apache molds from the 80's & 90's that Bob had/used. The highest volume production was in the mid-80's out of one particular, and most popular, set of molds. They had a flat transom with a bracket for outboards & no stepped transom. Many were built as sterndrives as well, with many different size engine packages, and ran excellent this way. In many ways, it was a better sterndrive boat, than an outboard board.
