That is hysterical and sad at the same time. Is this really in Germany? It's curious that there is so much political content against the USA. Well at least the Germans got it right in that the democrats are the [deserved] target!

I went to this parade in Dusseldorf in ~2004, it is called Fasching. Only popular in a few cities. It is a great experience, very different than a big city parade here. The floats are created by the town people and towed in by farm tractors, more like a country town in the Midwest. You can bring your own beer, families have their own bar on wheels with kegs and decorations. Many people dress up in costumes, for some reason kangaroos and prison garb were popular. The people in the parade throw candy out to the crowd, and the crowd uses umbrellas flipped inside-out to catch it. They also love John Denver music.

That year there was a W float where George's nose was about 16' long, and printed on the side in German was "Iraq Has Weapons of Mass Destruction". They also had one where some political opponent was flashing Angela Merkel. Not all the floats are political.

I came back from Nam in 70, states a bit then off to Germany before out service 71. Germans a party loving bunch! Heck beer stands every 300 yards the "strasse" great food, walk down the street beer or bottle wine and no one cared. Lots of Hash smoking, prostitution legal, no speed limits autobahn, etc. Damn, I should have STAYED THERE!

Me and a couple Nam vet friends in the park (Hanue) drinking wine, smoking funny stuff!
