Got the dreded e-mail from the mini storage in Walker La , 4 feet of water. We were trying to remain optimistic. 10x15 full of really nice clad wood windows and doors we were going to use when we built here. Finally got the barn finished and was supposed to start moving them here last weekend. Letting people in tomorrow. Hopefully some of it will be salvageable.
Please remain in prayer for the thousands of people that flooded and lost their homes or businesses. No work means no income along with the other problems they were dealing with. The water is still rising in some areas around Sorrento and Gonzalez as we speak. In Denham Springs , Walker , and Watson the water is starting to recede but the work is just beginning. I pray the Lord will give them the strength to not loose hope and faith and to persevere in these times of hardship. Mike.Cheaters never Win !!!

Terrible blow to those folks especially when I am seeing that many areas had never taken on any water over many decades. News photos bring back bad memories of Sandy here. Hope folks can pull through.

Everyone seems to be staying positive. Only had 13" in the storage guy said water only stuck around for about 6 hours or so which is the story for most areas. Water came in and moved out. Some areas closer to the Amite river are still under water.
It helps when the water isn't around for long but the damage is done. Piles of furniture, wet carpet , appliances , and sheetrock everywhere. The rip off artists are in town trying to catch the unsuspecting. How can a person prey on people at times like this ?
Keep up the prayers for all those affected. It will be a long road for many. Most didn't have flood insurance due to no records of EVER flooding. Many rivers and creeks set new crest records with this event.Cheaters never Win !!!

I havnt been able to get through to his cell, but service had been horrible. I went near his place last night, didn't look like it got too deep near him. He lives above his shop so he should be ok, but hope him hot rods faired out well. Gonna try and go by there this weekend.

I talked to him. He had two foot of water in his shop. Biggest things he lost was washer and dryer. Hot rods are fine.
He said the three main reasons for the flooding in areas that have never flooded before are first, 26 inches of rain in a very short amount of time. Second are new neighborhoods popping up everywhere blocking natrual draining and third, Massive road construction on I-12 where the crews built temporary dams to keep water off of the new road bed before concrete can be poured.

It was bad for sure but the main cause for Rexy getting wet was paying for the crushing he put on my FireBird with his mini van. He ran 11.4 and lets just forget what I ran.
