Cool "The Skuter" Quite possibly the coolest kids mini tunnel ever.

I built this over the past few months in my basement to keep busy. It's loosely based on a design I had years ago called the Catch10. It always struggled to break the surface tension and ran faster into the wind.. Just because it's tiny, doesn't mean it can't look cool and haul a$$ too.

I took the original design and reduced it by 20% to approx 8ft and then shortened it to 7'4". Moved the cockpit aft, changed the lines a bit and added a third sponson with a step and a pad, jack plate, etc.. It has a stock 9.9 Johnson in the video with no set up. Was a bolt on and go maiden run so no GPS #'s yet.

Here's the original 10ft design with a stock Merc 25. Rev. Ronnie owns it now. Corners like mad, but sticks to the water too much without some light chop or breeze.

That's really a cool ride and esp. being home built....I Love It!!!!
My son and I have an old Cougar Cub, 10'/25hp Merc on Nitrous that's a 63MPH ride. Had to do a bunch to make it handle at speed but it finally all came together and handles like a dream!!!!
The 1st pic is a holeshot, on the bottle from dead water!!!

I always wanted one of those as a kid. They were made by Grew up here.

Any pics of that nitrous set up? My next one is almost ready and I have a stripped down late 70's 20hp Merc to try on it.

As much as I'm a Merc guy, a 15A would be perfect on this scaled down version. Keeping an eye open for a 15 carb to swap over onto the 9.9 for now.

No pics but pretty simple. 1 NOS fogger screwed in the manifold behind the carb, T in the fuel line running to an elect. pump which supplies separate fuel for the N2o solenoid at 5psi. Can't remember the jet sizes without pulling'em out but they're around .028/.032!

I had this for a few years. One of those "I wish I'd never sold it" boats. I can kinda relate to the true tunnel thing but on a far lesser scale.. I'll have another one day. 'Tis the season up here for them to start popping up soon..
