Ignition system
Can you use the same wire harness and key switch from a 2.4 to a 2.5 both are carb motors. Boat starts but runs like crap. Seems like it's missing then does like a hard shut off. I looked on the cat I never had a fuel regulator on that boat and it ran. I did have 1 coil wire bad, fixed that. To be honest I thought it ran better with that coil wire bad..Any ideas?

Harness should work fine.

Back in the day I had an old '78 175 Black Max that wore me out for a week.....finally found that the big ground cable had work-hardened and broke almost in to where it goes through the cowling!

Thanks guys, Yes I had a few bad wires I narrowed down going from the packs to the coil
