Bleed hoses back to tank ?

    I'm building a carb'ed 2.5 Mercury and I ran across a thread that mentioned . . .

"Also on the bleeds that connect from the front 1/2 back to the rear of the block, you
will find the motor to run crisper and idle cleaner if you block the rear block end and
run the front 1/2 end back to the fuel tank"

    Anyone ever do this ?

I have on a omc the back half had no place for the lines . I made a manifold to collect it and ran the line to a filter and returned it to the tank ...

The hoses are only to make it run better at idle.

As long as you don't reroute the line that lubes the upper crank bearing, you will be fine.

I doubt that you will notice any difference, though...
