Possible Photo Shoot- Long Island...

Hey you Long Island guys...

I'll be vacationing at my Mom's on eastern Long Island arriving sometime on the 24th of June for about a week.

I was wondering if anyone was interested in re-creating something like the old Wednesday Night Gatherings from years ago...it doesn't have to be a Wednesday night, but if a number of boats came out, I'd be willing to travel to shoot them.

I would need a boat to shoot from - something stable like a pontoon would be ideal, or maybe something with a little tower so I could gain some height...

I'm opening this up for discussion to see what might transpire.

Kent, When you are here you should take a look at Mikes wood boat we spoke about a couple of years ago. Its in Massapequa. You do remember where Pequa is, correct?

He still want s to get the boat done so maybe you can take it back upstate with you. Mike

IF folks wanted to run around Peconic Bay, there is a good launch ramp in Jamesport, I think a bunch of guys have used it before when Doc had a run out east. But if y'all don't want to go out that way, I'm willing to travel.

Across from tanner park is the best spot to run. If it's a Sunday, the earlier the better. If it's a Wednesday night, usually around 6:30 is when it slows down. Maybe I'll get the old man to show face in his Silverton

7 AM or it won"t happen,the ramp is always jammed up with assholes by 10:00 not to mention other boat traffic on the bay.Another thing to consider is they might check for ramp permits after 8:00 Just sayin

Tanner is about an hour from where I'll be staying. Best light for photos will be before 10A or after 5P. I'll be on the island late Friday, leaving Wednesday. If we do an evening run, Monday or Tuesday would probably be less crowded than the weekend, even an early morning...just MHO.
