    Fullers Marine at Mattaponi Madness

Congratulations to George "Mercace" Fuller for winning at the Virginia Outboard Drag Boat Association races in Mattaponi Virginia this weekend. The team ran an untried new boat this year with no test time other than a paint and body work job by Crisp Auto Body in Virginia and a complete rig and set up at our shop. Never had a chance to get the boat wet other than firing it up on the shop front apron and hoping for the best. George took both Super Stock and Super Stock Pro classes and went home with two trophies and a couple of winners checks too. Great weekend with great friends to include Bud, Doug and Gary. See you all in Plymouth in August.

Kevin of course took many, many pictures which I am sure he will share. They club even gave him an "Event Staff" shirt so he had free range of the course for his photos.

Was this the VODBA 800' race held this last weekend .. ?
Two class wins with only one loss in the first round is very impressive.
His 18'6" STV Mod VP really flies with a Fuller built carbureted , steel sleeve , 2.5
He wouldn't say who prepped the Yamaha 22" prop , but I did hear that it pulls to 90 mph @ 9000 rpm ...
Could success be the boat , the driver , or the pork roll's ... ?
Chaz = thinking , it was a little bit of all the above ...

I think we actually ran the boat too when we were not eating

The 22 yamaha pulled to 9200 rpms and the 20 ran to 9400 rpms all on a steel bore 2.5 200 with a 5 petal carb front half. We finally had to leave the cowl off the motor to end the rumors that we were really running a 260. ;D

I had the same guy who Hillery used for her server , set up my long distance data acquisition ....

It did pick up on the quick movement of the hi-volume trim system ...

Hum...I guess these little 2.5 can really be made to run... Also guessing the 5 petal pulls very hard on the low end.....
