    Seastar diy fill hose?

I can't see paying $15-20 bucks for a fill hose what have you made to solve this, what threads are the fill hole or can you just shave a hose to have an angle on it and shove it in the hole?

I made my filler with a bottle with the bottom cut out like a funnel and filled it with some oil. Than ran some clear hose from the bleeders up over a tripod in the middle of the boat back to the filler funnel so i could watch for bubbles and recirculate the fluid. When i was done i sucked the funnel empty with a big syringe. Worked great for me and didn't make a mess

    1/4" NPT is correct.
I made this years ago out of a water pitcher. Clean, simple to use, easy to see air returning and no mess or waste. Also it is at the highest point at all times.
    Note: disregard the fitting below!

I have a funnel that just screws into the threads. Its just the right size doesnt even leak. Just make sure you bleed all the extra out till the funnel is empty or it will make a mess.

Now I use a buddys powerbleeder works great.

I use a vacuum pump like you use to pump out oil in a I/O motor for my trailer brakes, worked great. I'm going to try it next time I need to bleed the steering. Have someone at the helm with the upside down bottle and fill hose and then hook up clear hose to the bleed valves and suck it out till theres no bubbles.

Power bleeders are great but only if you have the correct setup/fittings. Most if not all side steering system with Aorequip hoses do not! You can make a side steering work if you use SeaStar fittings and hoses.
If you look at the fittings below my picture you can see how a side steering can be made up for power bleeding.

...And then...ideally...a few days later...top the system off again. All the zillions of microbubbles find they're way to the highest point in the system with time/use.
