    Cleaning/greasing ride guide steering

Saw a contraption someone built a while back for flushing ride guide systems. Anybody know where I can find a thread on that or know how to build one of these animals?

    Thanks

They work well just don't try doing it with the cables in the boat. I use liquid wrench first at 85psi, ATF next then finish up with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. If the cables have cut places in the sheath shrink some electrical shrink tubing on them.

I did it last year on my ss-2000, they were pretty stiff, came out working like brand new, very happy with the results and wasn't that hard to do, it did take some time for the pressure to push the cleaner through, but when it came out it was holy mess, I pushed mine from front to back (since most of your issue will most likely be by the motor). I also had a cut in the casing in one of my cables inside the boat in a very hard to reach spot, wrapped electrical tape around it.

    Good luck!
