Added some new bling to my Pulsare 2400 Bowrider. I sold the 2006 Verado 275 and picked up a Verado Pro 300. As a birthday present to myself I bought an Atlas 8" heavy duty hyd. jackplate to carry the Verado. The Atlas is rated to 400hp! A big shout out to Nick at Nick's Creative Marine for hooking me up on my birthday and hanging the motor!! I love you bro!!

The main differences are that the 300 Pro has a more aggressive intake cam and revised spark and fuel programs, forged pistons vs cast and a windage tray inside the block to reduce horsepower robbing oil sloshing.

Steve, once you drive a boat with DTS (digital shift & throttle) and built in power steering, the old motors feel like dinosaurs! lol It's like driving a car with the Verado! Super torque, extremely quiet, fast and smooth! They also have a distinct growl and supercharger sound when you nail the throttles!!

Ran the Verado Pro 300 this past sunday on my Pulsare 2400 Bowrider. 90 degree weather with flat calm water, full tank of gas with myself on board: turning a stock Bravo One 24 with 8" of setback the GPS showed 70mph!! The stock Mercury water pressure speedometer was on the happy side showing 72-75 mph depending upon trim/jackplate settings. The extra 25hp and 2" of additonal setback was just enough to bring the boat alive!! With the Verado 275 and 6" of setback I was seeing consistantly 64-65 mph GPS but the boat was boring to drive; no challenge at all. I could've had a martini in one hand and a cigar in the other! lol Now, I have to "drive" the boat and dial in the trim/jackplate settings. There's just a hint of chine walk at times which keeps you engaged! I think there's at least a few more mph in the setup with a prop change and bow cover!
