    141 rods in 2003 mercs weak for sure

    man do these rods sure destroy stuff both 150 blocks trash
    number 3 blew rod broke and knifed thru number 4
    number 1 blew rod broke and knifed thru number 2
    went to 3 professional tig welders all said good by will get some pics later tonight

    Well, if you had had 5250 rods, the holes would have been bigger, since the rods are bigger.

    60 degree designs are prone to windowing blocks.

    A 90 degree Yamaha or OMC is less likely to get a hole...

    piston melted then rod broke at neck below wrist pin from what i can tell who knows?? rod bolts and rod caps all good ,forgot pics sent blocks to Ron at Mag Machining to be fixed

    ive seen 141 rods bent over 135 degrees... and not broke and ive seen some fly apart just above idle... so its a crap shoot.. but they are still better than 8118 bottom guided ones...

    i hope so as long as the welding goes ok ,2 sleeves fix the heads i can get parts from john at US1

    When a piston melts,breaks apart,ect anything is fair game when it comes to the rod! It may break,bend,or both.If the wrist pin catches a port,big damage.Does not mean it's a defect in the rod.Just means the rod was subjected to stresses way beyond its design limits.

    the boat is full of passengers the prop has wrong pitch trying to yank 2 200LB fat asses out of the water oil gear fails and wamo !!
    or running thru rough chop all day long in your bass boat fully loaded
