What other lower units will fit my 94 Johnson V4 120 120TLERK

Looks like my lower may need to be rebuilt and I have found a number of other older Johnson 115 V4 motors and such. How would I know which of these lower units will work on my 94 Johnson V4 TLERK outboard?

Any V4 from '77 up. Not sure when they changed but you might have to swap shift shafts.

Make sure you measure the driveshaft. I've heard there are longer shafts on some models.

92 was the drive shaft length change. You would be best to find a unit from a 90 degree V4 from 92 up. The 60 degree engines you a different length shaft as well.

    Racer, thanks for the information.

Can't you just grind a bit from the longer shaft?

In 92 did the shaft get longer or shorter?

Did the change in 92 effect v4 and v6 motors?
