The peer pressure produced results on the Laser.....*PICS*
Didn't get to bed until 4:00 AM this morning. We did an all-nighter on the Laser in hopes to have it ready for the Rumble.

Thank God we painted the hull last year, it was only the deck holding me back up to this point.

Finally, no more sanding, filing, and smoothing.....it's time for the fun stuff. Instant gratification stuff, bolt-ons! (Once cured)
That's all for now. Back to work. I have a nosecone to redo, a floor to paint, and a whole bunch of rigging to get done before August 8th.

Rock on Bro!!
Loved the lines of this boat the first time I saw it Bri's garage 2 years ago.
I think that the single color paint really high lights the natural flow of the curves on the deck of this boat.
Very timeless in it's design kinda thing in my opinion.
Boat might be a couple decades old but still looks as good as any current design.
Brian has a 2.4 hanging on a stand in my garage that was originally on the boat when he bought it.
He does'nt know much about it at this point opther than it ran fine when he bought it.
It has a couple of interesting things on it already that make you say hummmmhhh??
Such as, nose cone, exhaust cut outs, aluminum flywheel (3 lbs lighter than my Johnnie's race flywheel, and yes we weighed them) and we think the good carbs.
Regardless of what if anything he does to the motor, he is on track to having one hell of a drag boat on a shoe string budget!
Has already had much guidenace from such 2.4 and Laser experts as Rex.
He drag raced his dad's near identical Laser at last years Rumble with one of Rex's wheels and had more fun than maybe any one at the Rumble!!
Bet he made 30 passes in the grudge races!!
Was one of the guys sitting on the bank conmtemplating running even though there were all of the warp speed boats out there.
His dad gave him the keys to the boat, Rex gave him a wheel and I could see Brians smile from the shore line!!
This should turnn out to be a hell of a package!!
He has all anodized hardware for it, with the size and weight of the boat and motor and his car drag racing experience I guarantee he will surprise a few people at the Rumble.
I think with some development time in the motor on top of set up, this will be an awesome By-U-Boyz inspired, no B.S. giant killer!!
Rock on my Brother!!
Gary
P.S. With some of our discussions on a "ModVP" inspired circle race at a future Rumble, Bri likes the idea of sinking a couple of markers and turning left at speed
Yeah Baby!!I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
