    Is this an electric pump?

Having issues with my 94 Johnson 120 V4 suging. Sometimes it runs fine, other times I have to pump the fuel ball to keep it on plane.

Was thinking that it may be a bad fuel pump. Been researching about running electric fuel pumps and from what I've been reading from "normal" boat people. lol (As opposed to you triple digit loving screamandfly crowd) they are against it. Say that the mechanical pumps are more reliable etc.

Then when I removed my pump I found these wires and what looks like could be an electric motor on my stock pump. Can you tell by this picture?

I might very well be mistaken, but isn't that a VRO pump?

Schrader valves are usually for an easy tap for a test pressure gauge.

It is, or was, a VRO. It started acting up last year and I sealed it off and went to pre mix. Are you implying that the oil pump is electric and the fuel pump is not?

That is a factory VRO pump and the wires are for the alarms, The Valve is a maintenance valve on the enrichener to make it easier to fog it or run engine tuner through it.

Riverrat is correct , there is a replacement pump that has no oil capability you do not save much $$ but no need to buy a oil pump if you are wanting to premix ........
