94 Looper 120 runs great when I pump the ball, it surges like cray when I don't?

Hit the throttle and sometimes it takes off and runs great. Other times it bogs down really bad. When it is bogging down if I have someone pump the fuel ball it takes off again.

Was thinking that I may have an air leak in the fuel system. But the hose(s) look fine. Should I try and figure out a way to run a vacume check on them? Or does this sound like a fuel pump issue?

Guess I should state that I removed the VRO system last summer. It was doing this before I removed this system and has gradually gotten worse.

Install a piece of clear hose at the engine to see if you have any air bubbles if it does you will need to locate the leak and repair. An in line vacum gauge at the engine to make sure the pump is not working to hard, I like to see less than 3.5 inches.

Sounds like your fuel pump is shot, id start with pulling it apart and checking the diaphragms for holes or wear

Appears to be teh fuel pump. I want to change it out for a cheaper aftermarket pump.

Will this siarra pump produce enough volume for my V4 120?

Or would you suggest this Johnson pump?

Or do you have any other suggestions for a fuel pump?

No i dont think that the seirra one would be enough as it says for up to 55 hp motors. Keep looking pretty sure seirra does the kit for your motor as well or get a rebuild kit from brp. I think they still have them as well

I'm reading in other places that you should only have an electric fuel pump for priming. This is why I am wondering if the pump (pictured) is electric or not. If I need to stay with a non-powered pump I will. What would you advise? Not a racing application. This is a fart around boat.

The schrader valve is on the enricher valve in pic ending in 409. That is the "choke", squirts fuel in behind the intake when you push in the key.

The connection that looks like a tire stem is for fogging oil or the engine tuner cleaner that evinrude makes. It comes in a can with the fitting that fits that hose end.
The electrical part is for the low fuel/oil flow alarm and electric choke.

The pump you pictured asking if it is electric is your fuel/oil pump (VRO) the electrical from it is for oil warning. The e-bay listing for the Johnson pump would work but you would then need to mix oil in your fuel. I would get a factory manual if you plan on doing your own work.
