Mercury gold ring vs wizard gold ring??
Just wondering what the difference is. I was looking at the 2 today and they look close. There must be a difference. I didn't have a chance to measure the two and compare. Thanks for any info.

I know the wizard is made in USA and the insanely priced Mercs are made in Japan..BTW,Wiz offers a piston that accepts Merc rings now.i just installed a set in my drag that is mostly pleasure ran.got about 10 hours of run time and so far so good

Measure the thickness with a micrometer and you will see the difference

Material used to make it is probably different as well as the taper.

It's been a couple years since I have ran wizards but the 2 ring pistons used wizard rings where the single ring wizard pistons used the merc ring. I was told the merc ring lasts longer but I have never ran either til they were flat. I have been told there were issues with the merc ring end gaps the last couple years, don't know if that is still the case.

Was told that at least 1/3 of the gold face must show all the way around the ring to be a candidate for replate.
