***PICTURE!!!*** What are these holes for???

    Motor: 1995 Force 90hp.
    Clamp and mid: Mercury

What are the three bolt holes on the port side of my engine transom clamp for???

Bottom One is threaded and the top two are larger through holes. Starboard side doesn't have these tabs.

That is to install manual trim indicators.
Sometimes they get removed/cut off to install that bracket on a hydraulic jack plate.
Bob's sell 5/8" spacer plates if you want or need to keep them while installing on a jack plate.

thats interesting... Never seen one before. But the motor is already mounted to a Bobs manual jack plate, so no spacers required I guess !

Yes, being a manual jack plate the way it is setup is no problem or interference but if you reverse the plate mounting setup to get the engine closer to the transom you will see it will not work with them in the way.

If i remember correctly Mercury came out with an electric assisted power steering system in the 80's that mounted to those tabs also.

late 80s early 90s merc had an accessory electro mechanical power steering motor that attached to those mounting holes. They kept making the port saddle bracket with the mounts for years after the power steer system was NLA.
