Factory setup is 325. Geiger's mid would be the way to go though. 15" mid and the corresponding larger jack plate adds about 60 lbs. Can't speak to the XS power head

I have been digging all over the net and can not find a site that sells the Geiger mid or a price of one. Does anyone have a site for me so i can look at pictures, prices exc..? I just have some simple questions like: Do i need to buy a 12" and the Geiger or does it come together? Trim? Steering? Options?

I would also like to know the weight difference between a Factory 15" and the Geiger 12" is the weight savings pounds or are we talking oz?

To me the Power Head weight is not a concern. I would be running the same 2.5L, LU, and cowl anyway. So the mid weight is really the only thing that really can make a difference.

Sorry, Off Subject, but is the stern/wings going to be the thin new design like the new drags? Or is it going to be thicker like the old XR2002 or the SS?

    Call Geiger direct, 705-718-0181

The weight difference between a Gieger 12" and a factory 15" is probably over 40lbs, maybe more.

The weight difference between a factory 15" and the Geiger 12" is probably gonna approach 60 lbs but there's a kicker to it. Let's say your setup requires you to run a 6" jack plate with the 15" mid. That will add about 25 lbs to the equation. Brian can build the setback into his mid and it would probably only gain a couple pounds. Let's take a boat like the XR2002 being discussed here, you could go from a conventional 15" mid on a 6" plate and convert to a 12" Geiger mid and shed up to 85 lbs off the back of the boat. I do love an XR2002 with a 12". Here's my old one

I never stretched it out. I think the fastest I ran it was close to 110. I just did the short track drag thing. It was an 05 Drag motor on it. That boat led to the 2005 XR2001 I raced for 3 seasons, now I'm in the carbon fiber 1/4 Master

I was talking to Darris about this last night when he was showing me the latest progress on the XR's. He was excited that someone is incorporating the setback into the mid and even more-so if 85 pounds could be saved.
They're getting really close on finishing up the new molds. Once the bracing is applied to the floor mold, he's going to start building XR's. He says he's building them back to back and there's four to build. Getting close.........

If I were building one it would get a 12" mid on the Geiger clamp assembly with cable/pulley steering or as a last resort, hydraulic with a side ram. The other nice thing about the billet clamp assembly is the trim ram used gives plenty of trim range, allowing you to trim it up for trailering or shallow water

Now that sounds better than 40 lbs. Those numbers are kind of what i was hoping to hear and it makes sense shorter/less material subtract the huge mount and you get a built in Jack. It seems like a no brainer to me.

How much setback is Darris suggesting? My brother on his SS just runs the Allison Jack at what is it a 6" and and a 15" mid and it does the job very well.
