Wow, someone is going to get a VERY nice boat for the money. You don't see these out East plus the gel colors are pretty timeless for a 25 year old boat.

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

He says he is getting low 80's out of the boat always stored inside or under cover only fresh water. Looks like a deal and a half. Wonder why only low 80's though?

It's a spectacular boat! I know it well as I bought it new. Current set-up is a bone stock MINT condition 2.4 200 XRI with a thru-hub SS prop. Only modification is a newer 200 lower unit with a Bob's nose cone. Current (2nd) owner is a great guy and just wanted reliable turn key performance not top speed.

23" prop? Would have to turn it about 8000 to get there (assuming 1.87 gear)

Exactly what I calculated on the prop slip app. It should have a lot more in it with more pitch. Thank you for the info. Is everything he told me correct to your knowledge?
That would be a fun boat for my son on our lake and he said it was 24 feet on the trailer total, and it would fit in my garage.

Guys, who cares if it does 80mph or not. Your buying it because it is a very rare build as Al Stoker would tell you first hand. Not only rare, but I suspect if you went and saw the boat in person the gel coat would blow you away given Eliminator did the fades. Give the seller a break on 80mph. For $10k out the door your getting a gift even it you only get it to 70mph with ease. Plus easy to insure.
Really cool boat ..............

Very nice boat w/a VERY nice interior. Hint, hint.........
Make a way cool, real world go fast boat.
Kinda like the regular comparison of a Checkmate to an A Bote. Really??
I can name at least as many things that the Checkmate does better than you can the A Bote.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

Like I said, I bought it new from Al and John in 1987. I drove to California to pick it up and owned it for 25 years. I ran it with dozens of motor combinations thru the years. With a strong 260 EFI it ran over 100 mph. The current set up is for skiing and cruising. The boat is like new. The pictures say it all. It's probably the best deal on the planet! If I didn't have 3 boats already, I'd buy it back tomorrow!

Cool. It is a beautiful boat. I have 3 boats myself. I would love to have it, you don't see anything like it on the lakes around here. I am also going to CT next week for Thanksgiving. Passing within 2 hours of where the boat is. Now if I can talk the wife into it, it will be in the garage. She wants a pontoon for here in TN, we already have a JC Pontoon Tritoon on a lake in NC hanging in the boat house next to a Ski Nautique. I am still going to work on her, but I bet the boat will be sold before I can. The seller has at least one more boat for sale as well because when I talked to him he said which boat right away. I guess he is like us other nuts with way to many boats but it is so hard to choose which one to get rid of they all do different things. It also cracks me up he put a 90 sticker on it so he could use it on a lake with obvious restrictions. That is funny but worked.
