Welcome to S&F. Cool little project, now I would have loved that thing when I was younger, ran one of my dads buddies for about 3 minutes when I was 10 and my dad must have though that was a bad idea since I bothered him for years for something like it.

Looking them pix what long shaft motor on it as rigged? I got a 8 and 15 SS Rude for the Mini. But I see no prob with the your "homemade" jack plate for a LS, but I would do a glassed end knee brace for simple "solid" The one on mine will hold any motor that don't sink it a launch. And my Merc guru here (were same age now, in our 60's) a kid had a Minimost, and the a 45 4 cyl Merc assend?! Got some pix in the house it.

Have fun with it! Thats what "getting wet is all about"! And welcome to S+F, as "we dig chit like this"! Not "buy it, built BUILD IT"!

When we were kids in the early 60's my brother and I hung out at a local launch ramp--brother had a Minimax my Dad and I built, I had an 8' "barge", but I swear one of the group we hung with, who towed his boat behind a bicycle something like 20 blocks to meet us, had that same hull.
    Per Rock:

"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."

    Per my hero Instigator:

"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

Lil Toy you probably don.t remember the name of this hull and neither do I. When I got this boat the guys son who sold it to me told me the name but I don't remember any body have an idiea what this mini was called. I saw a videow on u tube about the past where a kid towed a mini behind his bike to a lake pretty cool.
