I believe all these 21/22 foot V bottoms have their own merrits..some better slightly better than others, some fairly equal. The bottom line is that you can't go wrong with any 21' Checkmate Pulsare, 22' Velocity, 21' Superboat, 22' Progression, etc. for the ability to handle relatively snotty water, the fun factor, the ability to run fast (upwards of 90 with the right power) and versatility (carry at least 5 passengers, have a small cuddy to get out of the weather, storage, etc.).

Does anyone by chance have film footage/pictures of the 2100 Pulsare 19 degree V hull racing or running in rougher waters over the years? I'm assuming they made that model in both O/B & I/0.

Checkmates don't belong on this list. I don't get why they are still being brought up. Also there's pictures on herbs intimidator thread of his gps at over 106. Bs or not idk but if we're going by pics of gps y is that not on the list? Also everyone knows the black 21 super was the fastest one. Y is that not on the list? Is this really a popularity contest? Or an impartial list?

Looking at the bottoms its easy to see what makes the Tuff,Progression and Bernico,s the fastest. Also though i love the dash layout of the Sutphen they sure are shallower than i thought and not much fee board? Were they always designed this way or have they made them less substantial these days?

Checkmate boats has a great racing history and the 21 closed deck is for sure a SOB why would anyone say its not? Thats what there built for running the rough water with a deep vee closed deck ect...? No different than the Velocity or any off the boats on this list. Maybe im wrong but they have more fee board than some on this list and just as deep of vee? why wouldnt they?

Do you know if your old boat pictured was the last time that Coen built a Superboat 21? It was a 2003 you had, correct? Glen Anderson had it the last I believe but I'm not sure if you sold it to Glen directly back in the day. Anyway, Coen really needs to start building these things again. I had two over the years and it's a shame that he hasn't built one in 13 years but I could be wrong. Seems that the market is coming back for these smaller boats.

Its not that he WONT build them, its just that no one has wanted one

He built this deck for the IO and my boat had the first well and hatch for it (took nearly a year to complete) He then built 2-3 outboards since that I Know of most went out of state. They are out there but Coen always built them for stock applications

Its very interesting to see what other checkmate that put up a good solid number. I don't think checkmates are that bad of a boat and definitely has the right to be next to any sob built on long Island or anywhere else. I would like to see some pics of the ones we are talking about.

I see how it is a popularity contest. When a guy like me comes here they frown upon actually running their boats and competing. I'm sorry that the in crowd don't like me and they don't wanna play in my sandbox. Ask urself why?????

I think it was Glen, He lived in copiague at the time and shortly after moved to california with it. Do yo know Him? Do you know the whereabouts of the boat? I know it was for sale out there at one time.

That's pretty interesting. He sold it. I want to say about two years ago but I lost track of where it ended up but I believe it went to Havasu. He's running a different brand of 21 now with a 300XS.
