Progress pics. It was a good day!
Check it out. I played hooky from work today and got some pre-Rumble road trip stuff done to the truck (brakes, colder thermostat, new serpentine) After I got all that done I dragged the ol' Pumpkin around and got some stuff done. I'll tell you right now, I should be ashamed of myself. I really let the ol' girl get nasty. I won't post pre-cleanup pics because they're downright embarrassing.
I will, however, post pics of the work that I did. I hung the jackplate extensions and the clamp bracket today. I also pulled out the old inline 6 wiring harness and all of the fuel pump, tilt/trim, bilge, and fuel gauge wiring. Now I have a clean slate for when I put the new wiring harness and accessory wiring in. No spaghetti or rat's nests here. Clean, neat and unseen. I also found an old tarp to put over the interior to keep chit out of it so it won't look like something took a dump inside it again.
Now on with the visual part of the program.--Brian Chandler--

Between the truck and the boat it was good days work! I'll probably lay the new harness in tomorrow and figure out what I'm going to do with the trim pump and fuel pump.

Cut me some slack there boss man.
My mounts just arrived today (Thanks Jerry Millington!!) I need to find my motor mount bolts (I put them in a really safe place so I wouldn't lose them
) The mid and midplate are bolted together and ready. Same with the lower unit. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the tilt and trim working so I can tilt it up to get the lower in. I'd sure hate for y'all to think I was slackin

Some dumbass left the retaining ring on the bench at workThe washer is held on the zip tie that's keep the tiller from moving so I wouldn't lose it.

Whaddya mean no progress? The bolts are tighter in clamp5. Jeez you old guys need your eyes checked more often.
Yeah, the bug bit real hard this morning while I was test driving the truck after I did all the work to it. I was driving along Lakeshore Dr. staring at East Lake and how calm it was today. I almost ran into the backs of a couple of cars and about got an old lady and her dog. Couldn't take my eyes off the lake. There were a handful of guys on lake lice and I was actually jealous of them THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS!

Hey Pounder........
Get to work..........
Man either that jackplate is for a 25" motor or your gonna need a 20" prop!!!! That thing is up there!!! Is that an optical illusion 'cause ya got no yoke & mid on it yet or is that thing sky high?

Yes on both counts B. Mac. The motor ends up so high that it needs a red strobe to keep planes from hitting it.
It's back so far that I need a calling card to trim up or down and I get charged roaming fees to start the darn thing.
When all is said and done the tip of the nose cone will be pointed dead at the drain plug hole. The boat really needs a 15" mid, but my budget says that this will work instead. This is the way Big D had it set up when he owned the boat. In fact those are the exact same extensions he used.

Pounder that sure is a high mount
a lot of leverage on that transom too
I'd save sum money and cut that mid
