Two Stroke Only, Chapter Two....
Decided to hang my shingle back out.
As many of you know we moved from Fla last fall back up to Ohio where we're both from.
We bought a place just north of Cinci on 3 1/2 acres w/a 32' X 56' pole barn and we both went to work.
My plan was to turn my new barn into my dream toy shop.
Job was paying me killer money etc, etc and life was good. Then I started missing my shop
Money aint every thing.
Anyhow, quit the job and 50% through turning the barn into a yr round shop. Just got my quote today on insulating the walls and ceilings and all I can say is...yikes
Last winter I was still feeling my Fla. blood and didn't spend much time out there.
Plan is to be ready for business in 30 days.
Glass, paint, rigging, floors, transoms, trailers, upholstery, repowers, etc, etc.
Really don't want to do motor work as that's what I did to survive in Fla and it totally ruined a hobby I truly loved.
Have built one motor in the last 2 yrs, still own it, haven't even started it.
Have pix's of previous projects for those that haven't seen them or don't know me.
Can't wait. Once again it feels great to go to work every morning

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Best of luck with your endeavor...I don't miss the days of doing that type of work for a minute...Nice to know someone is going to provide high quality repairs and service to the boaters that know the difference.

Way too many hacks out there. My old shop sign said, You can complain about the price. You can complain about how long it takes. But you will never be able to complain about the quality of the work....

Good luck with it, Gary. If you do what you love, you never go to work.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Had planned this to be my retirement but everything happens for a reason.
Powerabout, yes sir. The Checkmate I have the 3.3 on has always been destined for a ground on V-8. Putting extra time/effort into the rerig/repower so the V-8 will be a plug and play when I am ready and making preliminary plans on how to be buried in it
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
