Floor to highest point of cockpit not counting windshield 27". Back corner of cockpit area where rear seat rests. Floor to gunnel 20". Floor to top of cockpit area 23".

I was thinking the same. If he has recorded 94,95 n got 97 maybe it's right but if the previous top speed was 90 or 92 it's hard to believe

Ultra Custom Boats 23XS with a BRP 250. Built by John West. Slower than your boat, and slower than everything being discussed on this thread but it's fun and different. It's the only one with an O/B in the country. I've had two Superboat 21's and a 24 in the past. What was strange with all those Superboats is no matter which way I wanted to go with them out on the Sound, they would always miss there course by several degrees and start toward Long Island.
    Odd behavior.

Because I was curious how it compared to my boat and how it compares to your 22 Progression's 24".

Thanks for the info. I am building something so funny you mention that. I'll be sure not to ask any boating questions on a boating forum thread though in the future!

Are you saying that the other guy with a Superboat 21 can't play in the sandbox of older hulls then because his keel is missing a chunk of fiberglass?

I have it somewhere but you may want to ask the owner of the Tuff 21 in Canada directly if you are skeptical that he did 106mph with his boat gm250.

I think you mean the Sutphen? They come in both I/O and O/B versions. Same hull all around except for a small "mini splash well" to allow the wacker to tilt up.

    Gotcha, no problema.

Btw, is your P22 gunnel at 24" high right at the drivers seat? Would you mind confirming that when you get a chance. It goes into my box of useless boating facts to be used when it's snowing in December.

    Interesting. Cliff Clavin thanks you.

Freeboard is 22" from the hull sides chine to the top of the deck on the Progression 22. January will be a busy month for my colored fonts. Another 22 footer as a comparison below.

Greg, I've owned 2 Pulsare 2100's, a 22' Velocity, a 230 Velocity I/O and I've driven the Superboat/Challenger/Rally Sport numerous times. I don't have measurements from the floor to the top of the gunnels on the boats but I can tell you that the Pulsare is ligher and faster than the Velocity power for power but the Pulsare is harder to handle due to the narrow pad vs Velocity's wider pad. The Pulsare will give you a softer ride than the Velocity but on the Velocity it's very easy to feel the boat climb up on the pad and get loose. The Superboat/Challenger hull has alot of complex curves in the bottom..fun to drive with a good solid feel to the boat but I don't think they're as fast as the Checkmate power for power. The Pulsare dry hull weight is 1375 lbs. Compared to all the Hydrostreams, Action, Allison, etc. V-bottom boats all the boats mentioned (Pulsare, Velocity, Superboat) have higher freeboards, deeper V's, more weight and will give a much better ride when the water gets snotty...they may not be as fast power for power, but at least they'll stay together!
Thanks, lot of good information in there, appreciate it.

One of the single biggest things I like about the Pulsare 2100 is the fact that it has a useful "playpen area" underneath on the long deck model. All the other builders squander that space. I also don't buy the "it would add too much weight" counterpoint. With today's materials and lightweight carpet it's a great way to create storage space in boats that don't really have any so you can also throw the family in when you want to and all there crap. If that costs me 75lbs and 1mph I'm in all day long.

  20. Thanks JUPITER PULSARE thanked for this post
