More Pro Max issues
Rebuilt a friends 1997 225 Pro Max. The block was sent to Ruck for 1 sleeve and then all 6 popped 15 over. The problem is it will not get on plane. Under load it won't go above around 2500. At Idle it revs and sounds fine. Compression around 140 on all six. Engine is all stock except for oil inj. removal. I have replaced both switchboxes twice. Replaced stator and trigger. Have good spark on all 6. Checked Timing several times. Fuel pressure is correct. Inj were done by Brucatto. I have switched ECU's. Idle stabilizer is unhooked now but tried it in the system. My next step is put my injection system off my Pro Max on it and see what happens. Thought maybe something went wrong with Temp sensor or TPS????

Check the ring terminals and wires going to the VST Hi-Press pump!
Had a similar issue and it turned out to be the neg wire, it cracked inside the jacket. It will run fine down low but once it demands more fuel the pulse pump will not keep up.

I swear..it sounds exactly like the high speed portion of the stator is crapping out, comes in right about where you loose power. Run the engine on a hose and rev it up to 3000+ RPM and read the out put to the coils with a DVA and see if your not loosing output from one (or both) of the switch boxes....I have install new BAD stators before. Always check the ignition system with the DVA....it has saved my many hours of troubleshooting. And remember the output from the STBD bank (I think) switch box also provides signal the ECU and will affect injection rate.
