Next weekend.Working on break in this weekend.Shooting for ten hours before Hardy.Cant afford to rush this one,DAM it's tuff, letting every high powered jet ski,jet boat, bass boat, float plane, and any other high powered SOB come up along side and have to wave them on by
That just goes against my Constituition

put my money on the jet making you look slow.
seen a lot of people with big outboards think they can beat a big engine jet boat.
I think to 50mph its going to be interesting, but 50 to 100 the jet boat all day long.
just my opinion.

Maybe so,but the last serious jet I took on was a twin turbo big block V flat hull.It was said he was good for 110+ I could make 95+ as far as we ran witch was well over 1/4 mile I owned him,all the way!------ But like I said ya just never know,I have seen some jets that are just scary fast.Im just betting this one ain't
BTW that was with a oval port 2.4

Jetboats can be quick. If his boat is light and he has 500+ hp with a top notch setup hes going to be quick to 75 or so. t would all depend on the length of the race and the water conditions i would say. Also on your setup and prop selection.

I did try some hole shots last night! This new setup is going to rip! With a Smith 28 OS it blows out of the water hard and fast.Runnin an Allison style carbon drag plate, the trim is still a little slow to keep up even with a big pump.Anyway it's on top in two or three boat lengths and prop Torks slightly to the right side before taking a set. Then it's going to be hang on,and keep an eye on the horizon---- Got a nice 26 Tillman Yamaha that may get a swim today!

Gary, got a couple of on board go pros will have them running. But to tell you the truth I'm struggling a little to keep up with this rig.Ive been without seat time for a couple of seasons.Plus the whole layout of the boat is different (for the better I beleve)And the warmed over 280 feels like it's a LOT stronger than the 245 I'm used to.Just need to keeper safe.

make sure those 2 go pro's are looking ahead, want to see a nice view of the jets rear end. only joking !!
you need to get practising and get driver time, don't do anything stupid or you could get badly hurt, no ego trip
is worth getting badly hurt for.
the jet guy has probably got tons of seat time and knows his boat well.

Its anybody's guess. My good friend and boat Mechanic used to run a 400ci small block single carb flat bottom with the jet hogged out. He would spin that thing up to 9,000rpm out the back door of the 1/4 mile at over 90mph! He spanked lots of big block and blower motors with that thing. If a guy knows how to set up a jet for competition they can really be impressive. However, It takes alot of stuff that you just can't "buy". Don't underestimate him, just hope he is another driveway racer
