new #4 speedmaster pricing??????? i mean WTF....

was thinking about geting a new #4 speedmaster for my seebold till i checked pricing !!! holy smokes!!!!! a new left hand #4 from mercury list price is $ 11,200. dealer pricing is around $7,500 ........i just couldnt belive it!!!!!! just the housing is around $3,500.......jezus ....im justed shocked!!!
i cracked my case and had it welded in a spot , looks like $hit where the weld is but its up and above the waterline when , im running.....screw itn, ill live with it .....im not buying a new one or , im not spending $3,500 on a housing!

The websites are running $6,300-6,400 and change for a 2.5L sportmaster. I've seen them selling new ones for $5,500, still ****ing retarded.

Exactly! Mercury lost their minds several years ago. The R&D on those cases is done and the tooling is paid for. Why does it cost that much?
